Giddy Up~Cowgirl Party

I finally have gotten around to getting all the pics from the Epic Cowgirl Party for my girls.
My two girls birthdays are 1 week apart so being it was my youngest (Audrey's) 1 year old birthday and my middle child (Abigail's) 3rd birthday, we decided to have an epic party. This party took us about 2 months of planning and crafting to come together but it was well worth it. I couldn't have done this party without my partners in crime, Aprill and Angi. Thats all of us below..

So when we were researching this epic party idea, we knew we didn't want to but cheesy decorations but make everything ourselves. Yes, pretty much die hards. What we didn't realize is how crazy we were and that we had endless ideas that kept growing and growing. We did everything from a photo booth to cow pies and everything in between. Take a look below for some real fun pics. Enjoy!!!

It's not my party but I'll cry if I want too!

Coral Coral Coral

Have you ever found yourself loving one color for a season and almost everything you do has that color in it. For the longest time it was Red for me, than Aqua and now CORAL.

I decided with the new move to the new house ( which by the way is totally God hooking us up, I still pinch myself daily) that I would re-do my bedroom. I can't seem to stick with a style for longer than a year. A year is really pushing it but whats a girl to do.

I scored these awesome night stands for FREE and of course couldn't wait to bust out the milk paint and paint them, your guessed it, Coral! Now Aprill would testify that my painting skills are.... Well... Not the greatest but with milk paint, it makes me look like a GENIUS. Really I am not:)

Anywho, normally you would have to sand a piece of furniture because of the lacquer that is on it to make sure the paint sticks BUT with milk paint it requires NO SANDING!!! Awesome! As a busy mom of three any downtime I have has to be super focused and easy to get stuff done or it's just not happening.

Milk paint not only helps everything stick but it makes it super easy to distress a piece of furniture. I never was a huge fan of shabby chic until I discovered doing it with bold fun colors and not just vintage roses and white paint. Distressing now has somewhat become an addiction as I am discovering the more I distress a piece of furniture the more I LOVE it.

Below is the the before and after.. My before shot is not the greatest as often I get going and forget to take a before picture.

Now come over and DIY with me!

Blessings,

Chevron Print

I don't know about you but I am ADDICTED to chevron print! Work has been so busy so my DIY days have been limited. We just moved into a new house so of course there are a million DIY projects that I need to accomplish. I started off with my living room since that is where we entertain the most. For everyone who knows me personally, anything that doesn't have a place gets shoved into my hubby and I's bedroom because who is going to look in there?! Unfortunately that is the room that needs the most love and yet I still haven't gotten to it. So be on the look out for a Master Bedroom ReDO.

It's amazing what you can do with a couch you have had for a while; you can make it so fresh and inviting again. Take a look below and go buy some CHEVRON!!!

Choose DIY

This weekend all three of us were in one place. You know what that means
CRAFTING OBSESSION CREEPINESS. It was many nights of lack of sleep, lots of giggles and of course crazy crafting. The kind of weekend where you plan way more than you can possibly do and you quit half way through because the few hours of sleep outweigh the thrill of creating something cute.

What brought us all together you ask? My daughters Abigail & Audrey's extravagant birthday party.
For the past few months we have been planning a party of a century, a giddy up, rutin tuttin COWGIRL party. The party will be a completely different blog but for now I will just highlight the awesome weekend.

All I can say is DIY brings so much joy and tons of laughter. Choose DIY and do it with your friends. Your life will never be the same:)

See below for some fun photos...

                                                           That Table is Pretty Clean:)

No weekend is complete without the beach

                                                                       Or Coffee

Or Playng so hard you fall asleep

DIY till you CRY... Till next time

The Flu=Lots of Blog Reading

I woke up with the flu today. Yuck!!! I had felt it coming but tried to ignore it. The worse thing is I just had surgery not even a week ago and have had to remain still. Now the FLU!!! Are you kidding me! Well the only great thing about having the flu is all the time it gives you to read BLOGS!!!!! (an addiction)

So, I came across a really great tutorial today that is a must have for all you mommies who have girls. So super simple yet so chic. It's right on time to with Fall weather arriving. So look below and get ready to craft away on this rainy day. At least here in Long Beach, CA anyway. I will be making some for sure as soon as I kick this nasty flu!

Trash to Treasure

To say life has been crazy would be an understatement. My little one Audrey cut two teeth in the last two weeks, went from sleeping just fine to not at all! She started crawling, sitting up and learned to pull herself up to a standing position. She is mobile to say the least. Meanwhile I have to hold my eyes open with toothpicks from the sleep deprivation.

A moma has to stay sane in between the lack of sleep, showers and personal space; So I crafted:))))))
I have a gem to show you. One night my hubby went out to get us dinner at a late hour ( I won't share how late just in case I have the healthy eaters reading) and he spots this table. He comes inside and asks
"do you want another piece of junk?" I looked at him with questioning eyes, knowing he would only ask if he really had a treasure. I tried to hide my excitement and shrugged my shoulders and said "Ya".  He proceeds to go out to our back alley and in he brings me this:

Before

Okay so I know your thinking it is a piece of junk. I however see nothing but potential:) All she needed was a little love and kindness and she could be restored to her beauty. Kinda like us if you know what I mean. So I went to the stores to pick up all my supplies and started peeling back the layers she had of tagging from our local artists in the alley. They really do waste their talent. I pulled out the busted drawers and sanded her down to bare bones. After a few hours of prep, she was ready. Are you ready to see her?????

After
Here she is:

I lately have had an addiction to Pintrest (which you can now follow me at) and loved this color I chose. I than decided to distress her and glaze her with a coffee stain glaze (thanks Martha Stewart).
I think the end result is lovely. I am taking her to a craft booth I have this weekend. If she doesn't sell I will be making her into a bench with a chic fabric top. She is up for sale for $75 as is. When I put the fabric on she will be $125.

Hope you had fun reading my adventures~
